I've always been a fan of Rhonda Byrne. And if you also happen to read her book, The Secret, maybe you can also understand how important the practice of gratitude in all our life circumstances is.
My mom brought me and my siblings up making sure that we
know how to express gratitude. As a grown up, whenever I feel
appreciative, I try to verbalize it even if I've already said it many times before about the same
thing. I have always reminded myself to "count my blessings" and always see the good in every bad situations. Yes, we all have our hard days. But counting our blessings is something we should really aim to do every day.
Sometimes, we find it hard to find a reason why we are thankful. Maybe because we often equate gratitude with great things. But do we also realize that when we learn how to appreciate the small things in our lives, great things will also follow?

"When you are grateful for the things you have, no matter how small they may be, you will see those things instantly increase." (The Secret)
Yesterday, I decided to make a list of all the things that I am thankful for and I came out with quite a long list.
I am thankful for each new day. Because each day is a new opportunity to make things right. And just the thought of the newness of each day is already a gift worth celebrating.
I am thankful for the family I have, my friends. Even for the little, important things that I sometimes ignore - the sun, the water I drink and the air I breathe.
I am thankful for every morning coffee, the chocolates and our dogs.
I am thankful for my senses. My eyes that can see, my nose that can smell and my skin that enables me to feel.
I am thankful that I have two legs that enables me to walk, dance... my hands that I can use to do almost everything. My voice that enables me to express myself and communicate with others.
I am thankful that I am free, I am alive and I have the chance to chase for my dreams and make it a reality.
My life now may not be the one that I have planned it to be. I even had my personal ups and downs. But weighing all the good and the bad things that happened, the good has definitely weighed more!
And, I am eternally thankful for it!:)
