Happiness on a Friday Night

My understanding of happiness is definitely not the same as other people's.

I love the idea of playing tennis on Saturdays, going to parties on a Friday night and playing board games on a lazy afternoon. I can see why other people enjoy these activities. I wish I enjoy them... But, I don't.

I enjoy solitary, quiet things. I love writing, taking photos, and be absorbed in a good book. But with the path I have chosen, enjoying these things is almost an impossibility. Medicine entails delaying gratifications and thus, sacrifice.

But, thank God for Friday nights. At least, for even just an hour or two...I can do what makes me happy. :)

Taking a break from Guyton's Medical Physiology and Snell's Clinical Anatomy and giving John Green a try. I like the story, though I'm trying not to get too attached to the characters because of inevitable ending.

“But it is the nature of stars to cross, and never was Shakespeare more wrong than when he has Cassius note, ‘The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars. But in ourselves.”
